So I just saw "Burn After Reading" the Coen Brother's new film and frankly they are getting a lot darker. I know that it is super trendy to like the Coen Brothers so most of the people in the theater didn't really get what the film was all about. I'm not going to tell you what i think it is about here, but i will say the film is pretty graphic. I think that the Coens are getting more and more twisted, and less bizarrely hilarious.
It could just be that after "No Country For Old Men" opened a new market, a darker market, and this was some kind of midway piece to bridge the two audiences. Most likely "No Country For Old Men" was so dark that this was the Coen's way of working all the darkness out. Either way I'm glad they are back to comedy and hope their next film is a little lighter.
